  • ✅[Yamecha / Yame tea] Yame Tea is a brand of tea produced in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is a rare and highly esteemed brand, accounting for only about 3% of the total Japanese tea production.
  • ✅ The tea produced in Fukuoka Prefecture is called “Yame Tea” and has a sweet, rich flavor with a strong umami taste, also known as a production area for gyokuro, with Yame Traditional Hon Gyokuro being the most famous.
  • ✅Yame-cha is a high-quality tea with characteristic sweetness and umami. The water temperature should be below 60°C and wait slowly. Depending on the tea leaves, wait for about 1.5 to 2 minutes.
  • ✅In addition to the commonly drunk sencha and shiraore, Yame-cha also has kabuse-cha and fukamushi-cha. Furthermore, the famous high-quality tea leaf gyokuro is a representative green tea of Yame-cha, characterized by its lack of astringency.
  • ✅ The higher the quality of the tea leaves, the more you wait at a low temperature. In the case of gyokuro or traditional hon-gyokuro, pour lukewarm water at about 40°C over plenty of tea leaves and wait for about 2 minutes until the sweetness and umami come out.
  • ✅The difference in the price of Yame-cha tea leaves is that the higher the price, the earlier in the year the tea leaves are picked, and the stronger the sweetness. The cheaper the price, the later in the year the tea leaves are picked, so the bitterness increases.
  • ✅The quality of Yame-cha tea leaves can be judged by the color and shape of the leaves. The darker green and slender the tea leaves, the higher the quality and the more luxurious the tea leaves. The later in the year the tea leaves are picked, the more yellowish they become.
  • ✅Yame-cha is a rare tea leaf with only 3% production nationwide. 100% Yame-cha leaves are very rare, and even if they are labeled as Yame-cha, many of them are mixed with tea leaves from other prefectures. Among them, our Yame-cha is 100% pure Yame-cha leaves without any mixture.
