It is said that during the Kamakura period, the famous monk Shoichishin Kokokushi, who opened Tofukuji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto, cultivated tea seeds in Ashikubo that he brought back from the Sung Dynasty where he practiced asceticism, which is said to be the beginning of tea in Shizuoka. It has been reported. Ashikubo is also home to a haiku stone monument called the Fox Stone, which is said to be the largest in Japan. The haiku engraved on it is ``Surugaji ya He Hana Tachibana Mo Chanonihohi''. This is a poem that Matsuo Basho composed in the 7th year of Genroku while on his way to the west.

Pour 180ml of boiling water into a hot water cup and let it cool to about 70 degrees. 2.Pour 6-8g (2 tablespoons) of tea leaves and cooled hot water into a teapot. 3. After 60 seconds for the first brew and 10 seconds for the second brew, pour evenly into the teacup until the last drop.
